A Celebration of Generation: This week during our reading block, we will dive into our mini unit, A Celebration of Generations. Students will learn about primary sources, different decades, compare and contrast their special persons' life to their own, and incorporate claim statements and themes. Finally, on Friday, we will work on our presentation skills.
Writing: This week in writing, we will pre-assess for our upcoming unit, Literary Essay.
Math: This week in math, we will begin our Volume unit. Students will learn the meaning of volume as the number of unit cubes needed to pack a solid object. Then, we will use unit cubes to develop a formula for the volume of a rectangular prism. Students will use the formula to find the volumes of prisms. After that, students will learn the second formula for finding the volume of a prism and develop skill in using both formulas.
Science: Our class is currently studying Environments with Miss. Kohut. Students will be bringing home a study guide for their Mixtures and Solutions test on Friday, April 6th. Please encourage your child to use their study guide to help them prepare for their assessment.
